Extraordinary feats by Millwall and Lincoln City put them in the FA Cup quarter-finals
A Saturday of historic, extraordinary victories for Millwall FC and Lincoln City, who advance to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
In the round of sixteen held on Saturday, 18 February, Millwall FC eliminated the reigning champions of the Premier League, who lost despite their numerical superiority on the pitch. The Lions edged Ranieri’s team by a score of 1-0 with a 90th-minute goal by Cummings, and thus move on to the next round and celebrate a memorable achievement.
Lincoln City wrote some history themselves with a road win against Burnley, gaining the quarter-finals for the first time in its 133 years of existence. Also this victory (1-0) was a clamorous one because it came thanks to a goal by Raggett in the closing minutes of the match. For Lincoln City’s centre-back it was his sixth goal of the season and his second in the FA Cup, and quite possibly the most important of his career. The last time a fifth division team accomplished a similar feat was in 1914.
Millwall’s next appointment is on 11 March, when it will travel to take on Tottenham Hotspur, while Lincoln will face Arsenal.
Compliments to our teams!!
